• Fiesta Cristo de San Roc May 1- 9
OLIVA, Spain has celebrated the Moors conversion to Christianity since 1609. For nine days (La Novena) from May 1st Mass is celebrated in the chapel of the Christ, San Roc Church and Oliva Old Town streets are embellished with lovely "Les Creus de Maig," monumental crosses made of flowers and palm leaves. During the day enjoy exciting Pelota Valenciana matches played as they have been for hundreds of years in the old town streets.
 
The fiesta finishes with a solemn, beautiful procession around the old town in honor of Christ and a dramatic firework display from San Roc Square.

• Fiesta Cristo de San Roque - 1 - 9
Las fiestas del Cristo se San Roque se celebran desde el s.XVII, tierpo en que los moriscos fueron obligado a convertirse al cristianismo. El pregon, con los festeros vestidos a la vieja usanza, anuncia las fiesta por toda la ciudad. En la capilla del Cristo, considerada joya del Barroco por la simbologia y belleza de las pinturas que cubren su boveda central, se celebra la novena. En la calle hay fiesta para todos y se pueden admirar los monumentos florales de las Cruces de Mayo. La Fiesta finaliza con una solemne procesion en honor al Santismo Cristo.
